Identity: The group offers confidential support and advice to all young people aged 12 – 18yrs regarding sexual and gender identity, home and school concerns, and all other worries they may have. They are based in a secure location in Halifax town centre that offers a safe environment for young people to meet every Wednesday between 17:00 and 19:30.
Positive Identities (Barnardo’s): How you identify should not be a barrier in your life, it should be a springboard. Barnardo’s works directly with children and young, parents and carers and professionals to help ensure that children and young people feel safe and empowered to be their full selves.
Mermaids UK: Mermaids is passionate about supporting children, young people and their families to achieve a happier life in the face of great adversity.
Stonewall: Stonewall’s mission is to empower all young people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, to campaign for equality and fair treatment for LGBTQ people, and against discrimination.
MindOut: MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people. They work to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities and to make mental health a community concern.
LGBT Foundation: is a national charity delivering advice, support and information services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities.
LGBTQ+ Engagement Toolkit: The aim of this toolkit is to provide practical, informative and useful advice and support on how to improve engagement with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and/or Transgender (LGBT+) communities.
